The Global Enterprise Technology (GET) interdisciplinary program at Syracuse University is mentioned in a Forbes article about training programs for mainframe applications.

A Post-Standard video captured the live jazz performance by the Bill Horrace Band on the Connective Corridor's 443 bus route on Friday evening. YNN and the Post-Standard print edition also covered the jazz performance.

YNN, CNY Central, 9WSYR and Syracuse.com covered the first Iron Fork Competition held Jan. 29 at the SU campus. Also, the Post-Standard reported on the competition winner, Brewster Inn. The Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics partnered with the Syracuse Rescue Mission to present the event.

Maxwell School Dean James Steinberg was interviewed for the CBC News radio program "The House" on potential world crises.

Comments by Vin Crosbie, senior consultant on executive education for new media and part time associate professor in media management at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, are noted in a Guardian article on digital newspapers.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the SU College of Law, is quoted in a Reno Gazette-Journal (Nev.) about tax incentives, corporate subsidies and other financing mechanisms used as economic development tools for state and local governments to attract or keep businesses. Also, Johnston spoke with the Rochester NPR affiliate, WXXI radio, on a subsidy for the new Xerox call center planned for the area, and with the KALW San Francisco NPR affiliate's "Your Call" radio show about media coverage of austerity, tax rates and the relationship between taxes and revenues in the United States. The Christian Science Monitor quotes Kelly Lux, community and relationship manager for the SU School of Information Studies (iSchool), about NFL players tweeting from the sidelines during the Pro Bowl playoff game in Hawaii.

The second part of a two-part blog entry for the Alcohol and Drugs History Society authored by Dessa Bergen-Cico, assistant professor of public health in the Falk College Department of Public Health, Food Studies and Nutrition, examines substance abuse and addiction among Vietnam veterans. Bergen-Cico's emphasis is on the interactions of drugs, emotional states and environment as factors in habit development and relapse, along with the effect of soldiers' access to early intervention and services to support recovery.

William Ward, professor of practice in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Huffington Post article on social media skill sets for the job market and future professional careers.
