"Migrant Road," an original song performed by Syracuse University staff members David Robertson and Janet Fletcher, has been tapped for inclusion on the new Syracuse Peace Council compact disc titled PeaceSongsCNY. The CD is planned for an early 2012 release to honor the 75th anniversary of the Syracuse Peace Council.

Fletcher and Robertson work for SU's Division of Advancement and External Affairs (AEA) and have been performing acoustic folk-style music together under the name Limestone Crick for nearly a year. Robertson wrote "Migrant Road" in 2010.

Noting that music often appears at the center of peace and justice movements, the Syracuse Peace Council called for October submissions of songs from Central New York musicians, songs that encourage peace and social justice, to "turn up the volume on peace." The Syracuse Peace Council is the oldest local and independent peace and social justice organization in the United States.

Fletcher serves as administrative services manager in AEA, received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Columbia College and has completed the core credits for SU's master of social work program. Robertson, director of operations research in AEA, is also a social science graduate student at Maxwell School. His doctoral research informs his music—he focuses on the philanthropic activities of disenfranchised or marginalized populations. Robertson is studying Mexican migrant farm workers in New York State and their charitable contributions within temporary microcommunities and to ancestral homelands.
