Miniature ceramic cows, beaded jewelry and hand-sewn items made by Syracuse refugees from South Sudan, DR Congo, Kazakhstan and Burma (Myanmar) will be some of the new immigrant arts featured for the first time at the Peace Council 41st Annual Plowshares Craftfair & Peace Festival at Nottingham High School on Saturday, Dec. 3 (10 a.m-5 p.m.), and Sun. Dec. 4 (11 a.m.-5 p.m. The participation of newcomers to our city is made possible through the collaborative efforts of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Catholic Charities and the Dept. of Anthropology in the Maxwell School. For a small donation, festivalgoers will have the opportunity to take home a unique handmade object and to support the traditional arts of newcomers to our city.
