Doug Brode, adjunct professor in the Newhouse School, published an op-ed in the Sacramento Bee on Herman Cain's GOP nomination campaign.

The Green Bay Gazette previewed a lecture on "Beyond Tolerance" by Gustav Niebuhr, associate professor of religion and media in The College of Arts and Sciences and Newhouse School.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a NPR news story on the Occupy Wall Street movement. He was also quoted in the Syracuse New Times on local efforts to recreate the Cardiff Giant of 1869.
