The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and Healthy Monday co-sponsor annual National Depression Awareness Month at SU

If you are feeling overwhelmed, depressed or just not enjoying life anymore, it may be time to take a moment to assess your emotional health.

The Syracuse University Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) will offer free depression screening throughout October. The screenings for faculty and staff are designed to increase awareness about depression and treatment resources. They are being offered in cooperation with SU’s Healthy Monday initiative.

A brief online depression screening can be completed on the FSAP website (http://fsap.syr.edu/).

A more comprehensive screening is available in person at the FSAP office located at 111 Waverly Ave., Suite 215 (in the Health Services building). Those who opt for the comprehensive screening complete a confidential depression assessment and participate in a private feedback session with an FSAP professional counselor. The assessment and feedback process takes about 30 minutes. Educational materials and information about treatment resources will be provided.

To schedule a screening, please contact FSAP at 443-1087. For more information about depression screening, visit the websites at fsap.syr.edu or healthymonday.syr.edu.
