A Sunday Post-Standard feature on the Whitman School of Management fall 2011 Entrepreneurship Bootcamp includes profiles of recent graduates of the six week intensive course. Tom Lumpkin, the Chris J. Witting Chair in Entrepreneurship at Whitman, is quoted.

YNN reported on the South Campus groundbreaking for the new Syracuse University Library storage facility.

A Legal Times blog posting about the number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) cases filings nationwide cites information from SU's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC ) and notes the FOIA Project at TRAC.

The Post-Standard reported on New York State awarding College Access Challenge Grants, including a grant to SU on behalf of Say Yes to Education for college coordinators in four city high schools.

A Monday Post-Standard look at revitalization efforts in the Near Westside neighborhood features profiles of Near Westside Initiative (NWSI) board members Carole Horan and Isaac Rothwell. Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a Forbes article on the Oprah Winfrey Network and its new fall programming; in Reuters on the televised manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, physician to Michael Jackson; in a Montreal Gazette story on journalism, newscasters and celebrity; and in the Bergen Record (N.J.) on new female-centric television shows.

John Wolohan, professor in the Department of Sport Management in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, authored a blog post in Athletic Business discussing the Americans with Disabilities Act and alleged discrimination in the case of a Fulton, N.Y., high school student with Tourette syndrome who was prevented from trying out for the varsity football team.

Don Dutkowsky, professor of economics at the Maxwell School, is quoted in a YNN report on unemployment and unfilled jobs.

Christy Ashby, assistant professor of teaching and leadership in the School of Education, is quoted in a Post-Standard story about Japanese teachers visiting New York's Sandy Creek school district to learn about inclusive special education.
