Research on tunable nano-suspensions for light harvesting led by Radhakrishna Sureshkumar, professor and chair of biomedical and chemical engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science (LCS), was featured in Nanowerk News and Science Daily. The research team exploring stable suspensions of metal nanoparticles also includes LCS graduate and undergraduate students. The Central New York Business Journal and AZO Optics also reported.

NPR member station WRVO explored the impact of the Syracuse University and SubCat Music Studios collaboration on the summer course "SUmmer @SubCat" at SubCat's offices in Armory Square. Created by the College of Visual and Performing Arts' Setnor School of Music and the Burton Blatt Institute, the course gave Syracuse University students the opportunity to teach Syracuse high school students with disabilities about the art of music production and recording engineering in a professional recording studio. The Syracuse New Times also did a feature on the collaboration.
