A film school ranking in The Hollywood Reporter includes Syracuse University among the top 15, with an emphasis on the College of Visual and Performing Arts' Department of Transmedia.

FIN Alternatives Hedge Funds & Private Equity News reports that the Whitman School of Management is one of the nation's top undergraduate feeder schools to the U.S. hedge fund/alternative investment industry, according to a job survey conducted by HFObserver. Whitman ranks highly in overall hires because its graduates are feeding the ever-growing need by hedge funds for operations, infrastructure, and compliance professionals.

A Post-Standard report on WCNY's plans to move its headquarters to the former Case Supply warehouse on the Near West Side of Syracuse notes the Near Westside Initiative's role in revitalization of the neighborhood. Marilyn Higgins, vice president of community engagement and economic development at SU, is quoted.

The Post-Standard reported on the Say Yes to Education Festival held in Thornden Park Wednesday, showcasing the work of Syracuse City School District children who attended 17 Say Yes to Education Summer Camps.
