iSchool welcomes new director of communications

The School of Information Studies (iSchool) has announced that John David (J.D.) Ross will be joining the iSchool as the director of communications beginning July 11.

Ross comes to the iSchool from Hamilton College, where he served as the new media director for the past five years. He was responsible for all digital and social media communications efforts for the college.

Prior to joining Hamilton College, Ross spent eight years with IBM, leading several global teams of writers and content developers in support of communications solutions. He holds a B.A. in American hstory from the University of California at San Diego and an M.S. in technical communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

As the new director of communications, Ross will be responsible for leading and coordinating the development and execution of comprehensive communications and marketing strategies for the iSchool. In particular, Ross will focus on highlighting and increasing the visibility, profile and reputation of the iSchool to potential students, alumni, parents, donors, employers, partners and supporters.
