Men and women ages 40-60 with normal hearing and NO history of concussion/head injury are needed to participate in a research study investigating effects of traumatic brain injury on the brain and auditory system’s ability to process speech information.
Participants must be native English speakers with no history of diagnosed learning disabilities, neurological problems, or mental disorders. The study takes place at Syracuse University in the Auditory Evoked Potentials Lab at 621 Skytop Road, Room 175.

The study involves 3 visits to our lab, each visit taking 2-2 1/2 hours. Volunteers will have a thorough hearing test and participate in tests of listening skills, attention, memory, and thinking skills. For some testing, participants will relax in a comfortable chair listening to sounds through earphones while we monitor neural activity from your auditory system and brain using electrodes placed on your head (similar to a swim cap). You will be paid $10/hour for your time plus a $25 bonus gift certificate upon completion of the full study. Free parking available. Weekday availability preferred.
