Research on initiation of the vision process led by Kenneth Foster, professor of physics in The College of Arts and Sciences, is featured in a Science Daily report.

The Central New York Business Journal previewed the June 29-30 joint conference at Syracuse University by the Burton Blatt Institute and the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Economics, addressing issues of disability and economics following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

A Post-Standard story on the grant from Ford Motor Co. to the Syracuse chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) to develop a high-school readiness program for Latino middle school students lists SU among collaborators with LULAC. Volunteer undergraduate SU student tutors, SU's La Casita, and Say Yes to Education are also mentioned. University College Dean Bea González is quoted.

Jeffrey Stonecash, professor of political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in a CNY Central (watch clip) story on state legislator salaries in New York.

Harriet Brown, assistant professor of magazine journalism in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, was interviewed for Australian Broadcasting Corporation's ABC Radio western Australia on eating disorders and her book, "Brave Girl Eating," recently published in that country.
