The Chronicle of Higher Education reported on the personalized video messages from alumni Dennis Crowley, co-founder of Foursquare, and MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer to incoming Newhouse School students. The messages were recorded through StarGreetz, a marketing startup founded by Newhouse School alumnus Eric Frankel.

The Daily News (Istanbul, Turkey) profiles SU student Carla Lopez, who is studying through SU Abroad at Bahçesehir University, and her internship at the American Study Center for Bahçesehir University Think Tank. The article also features SU student Mackenzie Singh, who is interning at Bloomberg Businessweek.

The Utica Observer-Dispatch reported that the sports teams of two recently merged districts will now be called the "Elmira Express" after the late Ernie Davis, a 1962 SU alumnus, two-time All-America selection and the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy.
