An address by Chancellor Nancy Cantor as part of an upcoming University of Michigan symposium entitled "The Role of Art-Making and the Arts in a Research University" was reported on by R&D magazine.
YNN reported on the student-led Project Paper Crane fundraising initiative for Japan earthquake relief that is displaying orange paper cranes between the Schine Student Center and Newhouse 1. Geraldine de Berly, associate dean at University College and director of SU's English Language Institute, is quoted.
The Post-Standard reported briefly that Mary Ann Shaw will receive an honorary degree from Upstate Medical University. Instrumental formerly in the founding of Literacy Corps and launch of the Center for Public and Community Service at SU, Shaw led the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital fundraising campaign.
