First public workshops on the future of I-81
The Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) and the New York State Department of Transportation will be hosting the first set of public workshops for The I-81 Challenge on May 3, 4 and 7 at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse.
The workshops will have interactive stations to explore the history of I-81 and the state of the highway today, share thoughts and vision for the future, and be part of the process for determining what options make sense for our region. The I-81 Challenge study team will be there to speak with individuals and hear new thoughts.
The same information will be presented each day, so drop in any time and stay as long as you like between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on May 3 and May 4, or between 9 a.m. and noon on May 7.
Free parking will be provided. Visit http://www.oncenter.org/maps-and-directions for a detailed map and directions to the Oncenter.
Can’t make it to the workshops? You can still participate in a virtual workshop — available 24/7 starting May 3. Visit The I-81 Challenge at http://www.thei81challenge.org/ for more details.
