Submissions sought for upcoming sustainability art exhibition

Calling all artists whose work involves environmental themes of sustainability: submissions are currently being sought for “Art for a Livable Future,” an exhibition that will be displayed in the Menschel Media Gallery in the Schine Student Center April 27-May 4.

Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry students, faculty and staff are invited to submit art work in any medium on the theme of sustainability. The show will run in conjunction with SU Showcase: Sustainability for a Livable Future, the day-long celebration devoted to student research, discovery and creativity. SU Showcase 2011 will be held on Monday, May 2, in the Schine Student Center.

Those interested in submitting their work should send a photo of the work (or work in progress) to Rachael May, SU’s coordinator of sustainability education, at sumay@syr.edu, no later than Friday, April 15.

Volunteers are also sought to help hang the show in late April and make the gallery into a creative experience space.
