Hendricks Chapel kicks off annual Thanksgiving dinner drive

Hendricks Chapel’s Office of Engagement Programs is sponsoring its annual Thanksgiving dinner drive Nov. 1-17.

Members of the University community are encouraged to donate food during this time to help local families enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. Items needed for a full meal include:

  • a gift card from a local grocery store for the purchase of a turkey;
  • a box of prepared stuffing;
  • a can of vegetable broth;
  • a box of Bisquick;
  • a can of cranberry sauce;
  • a can of yams;
  • a can of corn or green beans;
  • a bag of apples; and
  • a bag of potatoes.

Items can be dropped off in the Office of Engagement Programs or in the collection box in the Noble Room, located in the lower level of Hendricks Chapel. Gift cards should be brought to the Office of Engagement Programs or the Hendricks Chapel Dean’s Office.

A packaging party, to create boxes of donated items for individual families, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from noon-3 p.m. in the Noble Room. Members of the University community are invited to come and stay as long as they wish to help with packaging and card making. Pizza will be served.
