Jayson Garcia is a 2008 graduate of the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, with a major in Aerospace
Engineering. While at SU, garcia worked as a peer advisor and served
as vice president of SU's chapter of the Society of Hispanic
Professional Engineers.

Since graduating, Garcia has been working at NASA's Johnson Space
Center in Houston, Texas. He is a NASA-certified instructor of the
Command and Data Handling system of the International Space Station.
Garcia grew up in Colombia and, in addition to his day job at NASA, is
a member of the salsa band La Orquesta Salmerum.

In his speech, Garcia will discuss his own story and how
he ended up at NASA. He will also share tips on finding rewarding
career experiences. Garcia’s speech is part of the Alumni Speaker
Series, co-sponsored by Career Services and the Office of Alumni
Relations. This event is open to the entire SU community. Light
refreshments and desserts will be served.
