Meditation Monday offers stress release to campus

Meditation Monday aims to provide participants with physical and mental relaxation as each week begins. Meditation Monday occurs weekly from 10-10:50 a.m. in the lower level of Hendricks Chapel.

healthymon“This simple practice, done consistently, can be transformative in terms of cultivating inner peace, wisdom and sense of connectedness—all of which have direct health benefits. So it's a perfect fit for Healthy Monday,” says Catherine Landis, the current Meditation Monday instructor and a Ph.D. student at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Meditation is not only a stress reliever, but also increases blood flow and decreases muscle tension in the body, leading to a spike in relaxation. It also provides psychological and spiritual benefits, such as improved concentration and peace of mind.
