Syracuse University’s Project Advance (SUPA) launches the 2010-11 school year with 18 new schools added to its roster, bringing the total number of partner high schools to 183. With the addition of The Wheeler School, a private school in Providence, R.I., SUPA has extended its reach across six states: New York, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts and now, Rhode Island.

Project Advance also has added four new SU courses to the curriculum: Calculus III (MAT 397); Introductory Physics (PHY 101 and 102); Latin (LAT 201, 310, and 320); and Web Design and Management (IST 263).

Introduction to Entrepreneurship (EEE 370), new to the program last year, will once again be offered in 2010-11. The course seeks to provide students with a solid foundation and understanding of the vital role played by entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in the 21st century global economy.

Now in its 39th year, Syracuse University’s Project Advance serves
more than 8,000 high school students annually. In addition to enabling
qualified high school seniors to earn college credit and prepare for
college, it also provides training and professional development for
high school teachers; a forum for communication between high school
and university educators; and the opportunity for research and
evaluation designed to improve instruction.
