Fall registration announced for Art Education Workshops for Young People

The art education program at Syracuse University has announced that it is now registering participants for the fall 2010 Saturday Art Education Workshops for Young People. The workshops, which are for children ages 5-14, offer a variety of experiences planned in the University’s art education classes. They are taught by undergraduate and graduate students and supervised by the faculty of the program, which is housed in both SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and School of Education.

The fall semester includes nine Saturday workshops that begin Sept. 25 and run through Dec. 4, as well as “The Big Show,” a culminating exhibition of student work, on Nov. 20. Two sessions of each workshop are offered: 9:30-10:45 a.m. or 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The workshops cost $65 for one child; each additional child in the same family costs $35. Space is limited.
