Liebler elected to Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication committee
Carol M. Liebler, associate professor of communication and director of the Ph.D. and Media Studies Programs in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, has been elected to a three-year term on the Professional Freedom and Responsibility Committee of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
AEJMC is a nonprofit, educational association of journalism and mass communication educators, students and media professionals. The association's mission is to advance education, foster scholarly research, cultivate better professional practice and promote the free flow of communication.
Liebler's research centers on media and diversity issues, and her projects share a common thread of a concern for social justice. Current work examines predictors of news media visibility of missing children and the use of social media in searching for missing children.
