Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer to speak at Maxwell Feb. 11
Eliot Spitzer, former governor and attorney general of New York, will speak at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 5-6:30 p.m. The talk in Maxwell Auditorium is free and open to the public. Parking is available for $3.50 (special rate for this event) in Irving Garage.
Spitzer will address the ongoing financial crisis and the political, economic and social consequences of deregulation. Among the questions he will answer: Are libertarian, free-market responses appropriate solutions to the problems of the American financial system? What has spurred the rise of the libertarian/populist Tea Party movement, and what are its implications for public policy?
