SU Job Opportunities website enhancements announced
As part of an ongoing commitment to process improvement, the Office of Human Resources (HR) is pleased to announce several enhancements to the SUJobOpps website and application process.
The following enhancements are now active as part of the online SUJobOpps site:
Resume keyword search
- HR can search the full database of applications submitted within the past year, at the request of the search chair, for a specific keyword or phrase. This feature allows access to a broader pool of potential employees beyond those that have applied specifically to your open position. Please note, applicants must still apply for open positions for which they are interested.
Online reference letter collection
- Applicants can now list references and their contact information within the application so that search committees can request the reference directly from the contact. The reference can then upload the information directly and securely to the SUJobOpps website. This streamlined process eliminates the delay of sealed references sent via the mail, providing the information for the search committee in real-time.
Quick link for temporary job postings
- A quick link to temporary job postings is now available on the online employment applicant site in order to assist applicants in finding only the positions in which they are interested.
Application job history builder functionality
- Applicants can now enter all job history and education information and sort the information by specific fields as related to the position for which they are applying, instead of resubmitting and sorting the information for multiple applications. Work experience can be sorted by employer, title, begin date and end date. Education can be sorted by institution, degree, major and graduation status.
HR anticipates that the addition of these enhancements will create a more efficient application and search process. For additional information about these enhancements, or to discuss any recruitment questions, please contact Chris Percoski, HR employment specialist, at 443-4690 or e-mail HR’s recruitment team at jobopps@syr.edu.
