SU hosts annual Career Expo Feb. 4

On Thursday, Feb. 4, Syracuse University will host the annual Career Expo, connecting students with representatives from more than 60 national employers to discuss internship and entry-level job opportunities. The Career Expo will take place in Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The sponsors of this year's event are Macy’s, Deloitte, JPMorgan Chase and Bloomberg.

A wide variety of industries will be represented at the Career Expo, ranging from marketing to healthcare to engineering to financial to government service. The full list of participating employers is available on the Center for Career Services website (http://careerservices.syr.edu). Students interested in connecting with these employers are encouraged to attend the Career Expo.

"We are pleased to offer students the opportunity to connect with such a diverse range of employers," says Jennifer Walters, associate director of the Center for Career Services. "Especially for graduating seniors, the Career Expo is a chance to have face-to-face conversations with recruiters and build relationships that may lead to employment."

Among the employers participating in the Career Expo are Equinox, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lockheed Martin, Kohl’s Department Stores and Microsoft Corp.

"These employers are large, multi-faceted organizations," says Walters. "Their recruiting needs are varied, and they enjoy talking with students from many different programs of study. This event is a prime opportunity for networking."

To help students prepare for the Career Expo, Career Services will host Resumania on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Suite 235 of the Schine Student Center. During Resumania, students will meet one-on-one with employers to have their resumes critiqued.

The Career Expo is open to all students and alumni. Suggested attire is business casual, and attendees are encouraged to bring resumes. For more information, contact Dan Klamm (443-7187, deklamm@syr.edu), outreach & marketing coordinator for Syracuse University Career Services.
