SU College of Law hosts Youth Law Day Jan. 22

Syracuse high school students will learn that a J.D. degree can open doors to countless law-related careers on Jan. 22 at SU College of Law. Students will have the opportunity to speak with Syracuse University undergraduate representatives and find out about traditional and non-traditional legal career choices. The event is sponsored by the New York State Bar Association and Latino Justice (Puerto Rican Legal Defense Education Fund).

“The College of Law has implemented various pipeline programs in the Syracuse community to encourage students at the high school level to consider a career in law,” says Nichole K. Henry, SU College of Law assistant director of admissions and minority outreach coordinator. “Programs like these introduce legal careers to students and allow them to see the options available, as well as identify where to go for guidance. If students have the necessary resources, it makes a world of difference.”

Students who are interested in attending should contact Henry at nkhenry@law.syr.edu or (315) 443-1962 for registration information.
