As part of a semester-long project, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students from the Somali-Bantu Community-Based Tutoring Program wrote a book of seven different holidays. The book, People Come From Many Places and Travel Miles and Miles: A Student Guide to Some Pretty Important Holidays, is a wonderful example of cultural understanding. The book is being sold in the Schine Atrium on Thursday, December 10 from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and in Starbucks on Marshall Street on Friday, December 11th from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. Books can also be purchased during normal business hours at the Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service, 237 Schine Student Center. The books are $5 and all proceeds will benefit students in the tutoring program. Stop by and pick up a copy of this book – it is a great gift for the holiday season!
