Law students advance to national finals in appellate competition; Macias wins best oralist
The Syracuse University College of Law National Appellate team competed in regional rounds in Boston Nov. 21-22. The team advanced to finals and won the final round to become regional champions. Team member Vanessa Macias won the best oralist award. The team also won best brief of the competition and will advance to the National Finals to be held in New York City in February 2010.
This is the third straight year the Syracuse team has participated in or won the final regional rounds and proceeded to the National Finals. It is also the third straight year a member of the team has won best oralist of the competition.
Team members are Macias '11, Brady O'Malley '11 and Jeremiah Ouimette '11. Assistant coach is Dominic D'Imperio L’09 and faculty coach is Richard Risman.
